Simon Bryant E-mail

It gives us great pleasure to welcome Simon Bryant from Kent in the UK. Having come from a musical family, it is no surprise that Simon has entered into the music scene himself. From learning the violin through most of his childhood, at the age of 18 Simon's already ridiculously broad taste of music led him to begin producing ambient tracks under the guise 'Aconcagua' after being involved in several bands as a bass guitarist for around 7 years.

At the beginning of 2006, Simon was so in love with the sound of EDM, in particular with trance at the time, that he decided to hang up the guitars and begin DJing. After a year, Simon was appearing at local clubs all over local scene before securing bookings in London's smaller clubs and more intimate venues. He then went on to appear at clubs all over the UK from Bournemouth to Birmingham over the next year or so before landing a residency for london house night Strawberry Sessions which also led him to perform at the famous Ministry of Sound.

During this time, Simon was drifting away from trance and progressive and found a new love and appreciation for slower and more groovier sounds that were coming out of the deep house and nu-disco scene. He began to come full circle when he came back to producing once again but this time to release under his own name. Whilst his DJing bookings were still coming and being able to secure slots in the 103 at Ministry of Sound, as well as opening for the likes of Huxley, No Artificial Colours, Sam Divine and Jon Rundell, Simon was concentrating more on his love of producing his own music and in November 2011, his first release - Chen EP gained support from the likes of Hayley Parsons and Judge Jules.

Since then he has released through Unrivaled Music, Afrosoup Recordings and has forthcoming releases and remixes on Hype Muzik and Kindred Recordings, with his most recent 'Hot & Heavy' EP gaining support from Maceo Plex, Luciano and DJ Vibe. His production style and sound is constantly evolving but he describes his sound as deep melodic house with a sprinkle of disco. Inspired by the likes of Jody Wisternoff, Tom Middleton, New Order, Ulrich Schnauss, Carl Craig and College, his sound is definitely identifiable as having the emotional yet danceable factors at maximum levels. As for his forthcoming releases, Simon has been working with singer Emily Lane for the EP Live Your Life (already received praise from his pier Jody Wisternoff) as well as currently working on collaborations with Gabriela Smith (Wagon Cookin) and One D. The best is still to come for 2013 from Simon Bryant so keep your ears open.
